William Cash Reed 1850 - 1928

William Cash Reed 1850 - 1928 MD (Edin 1880), CM ( Edin. 1877) was an orthodox physician who converted to homeopathy to become a Gynaecologist at the Liverpool Homeopathic Hospital, Physician at the Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall Homeopathic Dispensary and Cottage Hospital, Member of the British Homeopathic Society.
Joseph Lister taught many students who were homeopaths, including Alfred Midgley Cash (one of Joseph Lister’s dressers), Alfred Edward Hawkes, William Henderson, John Moorhead Byres Moir, Frederick Neild and William Cash Reed, Gilbert Dewitt Wilcox and many others.
William Cash Reed was a sponsor of the Robert Smith bed at The Anglo French American Hospital: An Account of the Work Carried on Under Homeopathic Auspices During 1915-1916, at the Hôpital Militaire Auxiliaire, No. 307, Neuilly sur Seine, in Conjunction with the French Red Cross Society.
William Cash Reed practiced in Liverpool, and in Plymouth at 8 Queen Anne Terrace.

William Cash Reed wrote Ectopic Pregnancy and Other Subjects in The Homeopathic Journal of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Paedology in 1903, and he submitted cases and articles to various homeopathic publications. A copy of William Cash Reed’s popular lecture, The Circulation of the Blood, c. 1920 MS.1717/9 is held at the Wellcombe Institute Library.
