**Pierre Augustus Rapou **1780 - 1857 was a French orthodox physician who converted to homeopathy, to become a member of the College of Physicians at Paris.
Pierre Augustus Rapou was a major homeopathic historian with his Histoire de la doctrine médicale homoeopathique.
Pierre Augustus Rapou was a student of Samuel Hahnemann, and he was a colleague of Clemens Maria Franz Baron von Boenninghausen, Simon Felix Camille Croserio, Paul Francois Curie, Dessaix, Comte Sebastien Gaeten Salvador Maxime Des Guidi, Dion, Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Fleischmann, Duplat, Foissac, Adolph Heinrich Gerstel, Gottlieb Heinrich Georg Jahr, Benoit Jules Mure, Frederick Hervey Foster Quin, Mathias Roth, Leon Francois Adolphe Simon, Jean Paul Tessier,
Pierre Augustus Rapou practiced in Lyon.
October 5, 1857. Rapou, père, died at Lyon at the age of 77 years. Dr. Rapou was a practitioner in Lyon and his name appears on Frederick Hervey Foster Quin’s List of 1834. He, with his son, travelled extensively, and the son wrote a very entertaining history of their travels. (Allg. hom. Zeit., Vol. 55. P. 64.)
Pierre Augustus Rapou and his son travelled to Koethen, Vienna, Presberg, Raab, Pesth and Berlin to study homeopathy, and they made a special study of the homeopathic treatment of cholera during this time.
